Stuart du Kamp was born in 1966 in Bristol, UK. After completing his chemistry degree at Loughborough University of Technology, he joined Beecham Pharmaceuticals in 1988 as an Analytical Chemist.
During his time at Beecham, and later SmithKline Beecham, he was exposed to the many aspects of analytical chemistry but chose to specialise in thermal analysis, in particular the physical and spectroscopic characterisation of pharmaceutical

compounds. In 1997 he emigrated to Canada and joined the Quality Assurance group at Raylo Chemicals of Edmonton, Alberta.
In 1993 Stuart joined the committee of the RSC Thermal Methods Group and served on this committee as an industry representative until 1997. In 1996 the then editor of ICTAC News, Cyril Keattch, approached him with a proposition. Bedazzled by the prospect of having 'your name known around the world' I agreed to take on the awesome responsibility of editing this esteemed publication. Four years and eight issues later I find myself writing this bio…..my how the years have flown by!
